Bob Kirschner has been working in the NYC sound recording and music industry business since 1986. Bob owned City Sound Productions, the preeminent audio post and music facility, until 2010. Currently, Bob freelances as a Pro Tools audio post specialist at television newtworks and sound studios.
Bob is a keyboard player, composer and music producer, with a strong background in electronic music, analog synthesis, progressive rock, funk and blues-rock. He has worked in the music industry with Yoko Ono, Bill Laswell, Debby Harry, Vernon Reid, Men Of Vizion, Garland Jeffreys, and Maxi Priest. He was keyboard player for New York bands The Uptown Atomics and The Fluid Foundation (with Peter Fluid from 24-7 Spyz). He was composer and performer for NYC theater company Paradise Opera.
Bob's work in audio and video post production started in the mid-'90's, alongside his partnership with video facility Downtown Avid. He has mixed, edited, and designed sound for TV spots, promos, episodes and long form work broadcast on FOX, CNN, ESPN, Food Network, Oxygen Network, WE Network, Bravo, MSG Network, YES Network, and NHK Japan. He has worked on numerous award-winning documentary and narrative films for theatrical and festival release, and has mixed music concerts in 5.1 surround sound for DVD release.
